A Week Visiting Jaco, Costa Rica

If you are dreaming of a Caribbean getaway then look no further than Jaco, Costa Rica. Jaco is a resort city located between several mountains neighboring between Herradura Bay and Playa Hermosa. Explore world-class beaches, zip lining through rainforests, and horseback riding in this exciting new adventure.
Jaco is a booming beach town located 1.5 hours from Costa Rica’s Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). It is considered one of Costa Rica’s most developed towns with surfside hotels, boutique shops, mid-to-high rise condo complexes and a huge selection of restaurants and bars.
What to Do:
Visit the Hotel Villa Caletas – Anfiteatro Sunset Bar and Restaurant: This is a local favorite with an amazing Greek amphitheater that offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Head on over for dinner with a breathtaking sunset that one would never forget.

Zip line through the rainforest: Check out Rainforest Adventure with hiking, waterfall climbing, aerial tram and zip lining tours for all ages. It is a great experience all in all as the service is remarkable and the commitment to the environment is impressive. There is so much to do that it will definitely take more than a day to do it all.
 
Manuel Antonio National Park: This national park is within driving distance of Jaco is one of the most biodiverse places in the world. There are three major hiking trails and although a guide is not essential, they can be very helpful to see and learn a lot. Watch out for the occasional sloth or white-faced monkey.
 
Surfing: Jaco has some of the best waves in the world even has hosted the International Surfing Association (ISA) games. This year the competition will be held in Jaco from August 6-14 so if you are traveling to Jaco around that time check it out. There are plenty of rental places and classes for all ages.
 
Discovery Horseback Tours: This is the most highly recommended place to ride healthy and happy horses through the jungle and the country side. The team has done a great job rescuing and rehabilitating the horses and the staff is warm and friendly. This is one experience that cannot be missed.
 
ATV, White Water Rafting and much more: There are so many different tours and guides to choose one so check out reviews and ask the hotel, often times they can book activities and have local connections. Remember with ATV rentals it is extremely dirty so wear old clothes that can be thrown away after.
 
Jaco has an amazing local vibe with plenty of farmers markets and little restaurants. Go out and try their fish tacos, freshly squeezed sugar cane juice and check out the beautifully crafted handbags and jewelry. Viva la Pura Vida!
